Description | BMI-1 Antibody, anti-human, Vio® Bright V423, REAfinity™. Clone REA438 recognizes the human B lymphoma Mo-MLV insertion region 1 homolog (BMI-1) antigen, which is also known as polycomb group RING finger protein 4 (PCGF4). BMI-1 is a member of the polycomb group of transcription repressors that was initially identified as an oncogene cooperating with c-myc in a murine model of lymphoma. Both, hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs) and neuronal stem cells, express high levels of BMI-1. It has been shown that BMI-1 is necessary for efficient self-renewing cell divisions of adult HSCs as well as adult peripheral and central nervous system neural stem cells, but that it is less critical for the generation of differentiated progeny. BMI-1 causes neoplastic proliferation when overexpressed in lymphocytes. | Additional information: Clone REA438 displays negligible binding to Fc receptors. |
