Description | IL-1β Antibody, anti-human, APC, REAfinity™. Clone REA1172 recognizes the human IL-1β protein, a proinflammatory cytokine which belongs to the interleukin 1 (IL-1) family. IL-1β is primarly produced by macrophages, but also by monocytes and dendritic cells. It is secreted as a proprotein, that is cleaved by cytosolic caspase 1 (interleukin 1 beta convertase/CASP1/ICE) to form mature IL-1β. It plays an essential role in inflammatory response, promotes cell differentiation, e.g. T?17 differentiation of T cells, and is involved in other cellular activities, including apoptosis. | Additional information: Clone REA1172 displays negligible binding to Fc receptors. |
