| Description | This DARC antibody is generated from rabbits immunized with a KLH conjugated synthetic peptide between 1-30 amino acids from the N-terminal region of human DARC. The protein encoded by this gene is a glycosylatedmembrane protein and a non-specific receptor for severalchemokines. The encoded protein is the receptor for the humanmalarial parasites Plasmodium vivax and Plasmodium knowlesi.Polymorphisms in this gene are the basis of the Duffy blood groupsystem. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms havebeen found for this gene. |
