| Description | The antibody BRA4F1 is directed against human CD15. The antibody does not cross react with the sialylated form of CD15 (CD15s). CD15 is a carbohydrate that is referred to as the Lewis X antigen, also known as alpha-(1,3)-fucosyltransferase 4, which is expressed on a variety of glycolipids and glycoproteins found on the cell surface of neutrophils, monocytes, eosinophils and non-hematopoietic tissues including embryonic tissues. CD15 is reported to function as an adhesion molecule and is involved in chemotaxis and phagocytosis. Expression of CD15 is also associated with a wide variety of tumour cells including some adenocarcinomas and certain types of myeloid and lymphoid leukaemias.
