Description | Elastin is the major protein of elastic fibres that form a randomly orientated network in many tissues. Due to its high content of hydrophobic amino acids it is relatively resistant to chemicals and proteinase. Its principal function is to provide elasticity to tissues, however it has also chemotactic and cell adhesion properties. Human Elastin 100%, human Collagen Type I, II, III, IV, V <0,1%; human Fibronectin <0,1%. |
