| Description | Specificity: 15 amino acid peptide from near the carboxy-terminus of human adiponectin. Adiponectin/APM1 is a hormone secreted by adipocytes that regulates energy homeostasis and glucose and lipid metabolism. APM1 gene is exclusively expressed in adipose tissue. The protein, also known as gelatin-binding protein, has high similarity with collagens X and VIII and complement factor C1q. It is proposed that APM1 protein may be a collagen-like secretory protein. |
