| Description | Specificity: Human platelet membrane glycoprotein (GP) llb-llla (allb/b3 integrin, CD41/CD61), does not interact with human av/b3 integrin, or with dog rabbit GP llb-llla. Complex specific, inhibits glycoprotein llb-llla interaction with fibrinogen and other ligands, inhibits platelet aggregation. CRC64 (FRaMon) recognizes complex-specific epitope but not dissociated GP IIb or GP IIIa. CRC64 inhibits platelet aggregation by blocking fibrinogen binding to GP IIb-IIIa. CRC64 does not react with platelets from patients with the hereditary deficiency of GP IIb-IIIa (Glanzmann's thrombasthenia). F(ab')2 fragments of CRC64 (FRaMon) are used a base for antithrombotic preparation Monafram (or FRAMON) belonging to the class of GP IIb-IIIa antagonist |
