| Description | Specificity: SUN2 (This antibody is specific for the human SUN2.). Human SUN1 and SUN2 are inner nuclear membrane (INM) proteins (824 and 717 a.a, respectively). SUN domain and nesprin proteins are part of the nuclear envelope (NE) LINC complex. This complex provides a direct connection between the nuclear lamina and the cytoskeleton, which contributes to nuclear positioning and cellular rigidity. SUN (Sad1p, UNC-84) domains are conserved C-terminal protein regions a few hundred amino acids long. In mammals, the SUN domain is present in two proteins, Sun1 and Sun2. SUN2 May also function on endocytic vesicles as a receptor for RAB5-GDP and participate in the activation of RAB5. |
