| Description | Rabbit anti Human CD254 antibody recognizes the soluble form of human CD254, otherwise known as sRANKL, a 20kDa glycoprotein and member of the Tumour Necrosis Factor (TNF) superfamily, generated by proteolytic processing of the full-length CD254 membrane protein. CD254 is highly expressed by T lymphocytes and osteoblastic cells and plays a key role in the differentiation and activation of osteoclast precursors, acting as a ligand for both receptor activator of NF-KBeta (RANK) and the decoy receptor osteoprotegerin (OPG), which act as antagonists. Binding of CD254 to RANK is essential for the activation of osteoclastogenesis, stimulated by factors such as TNF-alpha, IL-1beta, IL-6 and IL-17, whereas binding to OPG neutralizes CD254, thereby |
