| Description | This CTPS2 antibody is generated from rabbits immunized with a KLH conjugated synthetic peptide between 450-479 amino acids from the C-terminal region of human CTPS2. The protein encoded by this gene catalyzes the formationof CTP from UTP with the concomitant deamination of glutamine toglutamate. This protein is the rate-limiting enzyme in thesynthesis of cytosine nucleotides, which play an important role invarious metabolic processes and provide the precursors necessaryfor the synthesis of RNA and DNA. Cancer cells that exhibitincreased cell proliferation also exhibit an increased activity ofthis encoded protein. Thus, this protein is an attractive targetfor selective chemotherapy.
