Description | The antibody recognizes the protein SamD12. The antibody does not cross-react with SamD10. SamD10 and SamD12 are two recently discovered homolog proteins consisting of a SAM domain. These proteins are also known as Hyphen (HYP) or Aveugle (Ave) and they have been demonstrated to interact with the SAM domain of the Connector enhancer of KSR (CNK) downstream of RAS but a step upstream of RAF. A role for these proteins downstream of EGFR during eye and wing development of Drosophila has also been demonstrated. Heterodimerization of CNK/SAM has been shown to facilitate the recruitment of a KSR/MEK complex to CNK and bridge KSR/MEK to RAF which greatly enhances RAS-mediated RAF activation. |
