| Description | Specificity: Human GRM7 / MGLUR7. BLAST analysis of the peptide immunogen showed no homology with other human proteins, except GRM8 (63%). Metabotropic Glutamate Receptor GRM7 binds L-glutamate, the major excitatory neurotransmitter in the central nervous system, which activates both ionotropic and metabotropic glutamate receptors. GRM7 is highly concentrated at presynaptic terminals and is thought to play an important role in the modulation of glutamatergic synaptic transmission by effecting presynaptic inhibition of glutamate release. |
