Description | Specificity: Purified human insulin coupled to bovine serum albumin (BSA). Hybridoma: Produced by the fusion between BALB/c mouse splenocytes and mouse myeloma SP2/0 cells after immunization with insulin from human pancreas using conventional hybridoma technology. Insulin (INS) is a hormone central to regulating carbohydrate and fat metabolism in the body. Insulin causes cells in the liver, muscle, and fat tissue to take up glucose from the blood, storing it as glycogen in the liver and muscle. After removal of the precursor signal peptide, proinsulin is post-translationally cleaved into two chains (peptide A and peptide B) that are covalently linked via two disulfide bonds. |
