Description | The alpha-tubulin mouse monoclonal antibody can detect endogenous alpha-tubulin proteins. Description: Tubulin is one of several members of a small family of globular proteins. The most common members of the tubulin family are alpha-tubulin and beta-tubulin, the proteins that make up microtubules. Each has a molecular weight of approximately 55 kiloDaltons. Microtubules are assembled from dimers of alpha-and beta-tubulin.Function: Tubulin is the major constituent of microtubules. It binds two moles of GTP, one at an exchangeable site on the beta chain and one at a non-exchangeable site on the alpha chain.Subunit Structure: Dimer of alpha and beta chains. A typical microtubule is a hollow water-filled tube with an outer diameter of 2 |
Immunogen | Immunogen: Mouse monoclonal antibody is prepared by immunizing recombinant protein. Subcellular Location: Cytoplasm, Cytoskeleton. Tissue Specificity: Expressed at a high level in fetal brain. |
