Description | Description: Formins, such as FMN1, are actin-nucleating proteins involved in cell polarity, cytokinesis, cell migration, and transcriptional activity. This FMN1 gene belongs to the formin homology family and encodes a protein that has a role in the formation of adherens junction and the polymerization of linear actin cables. The homologous gene in mouse is associated with limb deformity. Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been found for this gene.Protein Function: Plays a role in the formation of adherens junction and the polymerization of linear actin cables. |
Immunogen | Immunogen: E Coli-derived human FMN1 recombinant protein (Position: N1195-N1419). Human FMN1 shares 93.8% amino acid (aa) sequence identity with mouse FMN1. Subcellular Localization: Nucleus. Cytoplasm. Cell junction, adherens junction. Cell membrane; Peripheral membrane protein; Cytoplasmic side. Localization to the adherens junctions is alpha-catenin-dependent. Also localizes to F-actin bundles originating from adherens junctions and to microtubules (By similarity). |
