| Description | Specificity: Rat, mouse, human, Xenopus-identical; bovine-14/15 residues identical. The b3 protein is an auxiliary subunit of the CaV (voltage dependent calcium) channel multimer complex. Four b isoforms were identified in mammalian genoms and they share some sequence as well as structure homology.1-3 The structure of CaVb3 was recentely determined (as well as other CaVb subunits; for review see reference 3). CaVb subunits are cytoplasmic proteins, that bind the cytoplasmic face of the pore forming CaV a1 subunits.
