| Description | Rabbit anti MEK 1/2 (pSer217/pSer221) antibody recognizes MAPK/ERK kinase 1 (MEK 1) and MAPK/ERK kinase 2 (MEK 2), also known as MAP kinase kinase 1 (MAPKK 1) and MAP kinase kinase 2 (MAPKK 2) respectively, when phosphorylated at serine 217 and serine 221. MEK 1 and MEK 2 are integral components of the MAP kinase cascade that regulate cell growth and differentiation. MEK1 and MEK2 are phosphorylated at serine 217 and serine 221 by Raf kinases, increasing the activity or MEK 1 and MEK 2 (Matallanas et al. 2011). |
