| Description | Specificity: Caspase 5 (p20, Cleaved-Asp121) Antibody detects endogenous levels of fragment of activated Caspase 5 resulting from cleavage adjacent to Asp121. CASP5/Caspase 5 is a member of the cysteine-aspartic acid protease(caspase) family. Sequential activation of caspases plays a central role in the execution-phase of cell apoptosis. Caspases exist as inactiveproenzymes which undergo proteolytic processing at conserved asparticresidues to produce two subunits, large and small, that dimerize to form the active enzyme. Overexpression of the active form of this enzymeinduces apoptosis in fibroblasts. |
