Description | Description: Rabbit IgG polyclonal antibody for Transcription factor SOX-1(SOX1) detection. Tested with WB in Human;Mouse;Rat. Background: SOX1 (for Sex determining region Y-box 1), located in 13q34, is a transcription factor in the Sox protein family. It means that this intronless gene encodes a member of the SOX (SRY-related HMG-box) family of transcription factors involved in the regulation of embryonic development and in the determination of the cell fate. The encoded protein may act as a transcriptional activator after forming a protein complex with other proteins. In mice, a similar protein regulates the gamma-crystallin genes and is essential for lens development. SOX1 expression is restricted to neuroectodermin the tetrapod embryo. |
Immunogen | Immunogen: A synthetic peptide corresponding to a sequence in the middle region of Human SOX1(215-248aa QHPGAGGAHPHAHPAHPHPHHPHAHPHNPQPMHR), identical to the related mouse sequence. Ig Type: Rabbit IgG |
