Description | Specificity: Pig, human-identical; mouse, rat-14/15 residues identical. The a2d1 protein is an auxiliary subunit of the CaV (voltage dependent calcium) channel multimer complex. Four a2d isoforms were identified in mammalian genoms and they share some sequence as well as structure homology.1 The protein product of the gene encoding a2d is complex, it includes two seperated proteins the extracellular a2 linked by disulphide bridges to the membrane sppaning (single transmembrane helix) d subunit. a2d1 subunit is highly expressed in skeletal muscle and brain. Its expression along with a pore forming CaV a1 subunit, result in larger CaV currents, probably due to improoved trafficing of the a1 subunit to the plasma membrane.1-2 a2d1 subunit was |
Immunogen | Immunogen: Peptide EPFPS AVTIK SWVDK (C), corresponding to residues 1-15 of a2 subunit (residues 27-41 of rabbit a2/d-1 precursor) (Accession P13806). |
