| Description | Recognizes autophosphorylated and unoccupied human receptors as well as the receptor-insulin complex. Does not affect insulinstimulated autophosphorylation. Species Cross reactivity: Mouse and Rat. The human insulin receptor is a heterotetrameric membrane glycoprotein consisting of disulfide-linked subunits in a b-a-a-b configuration. The b-subunit (95kD) possesses a single transmembrane domain with tyrosine kinase acivity, whereas the a-subunit (135kD) is completely extracellular. |
