| Description | Rabbit anti XIAP recognizes XIAP (X-linked inhibitor of apoptosis protein) also known as IAP-3 (Inhibitor of apoptosis protein 3) or BIRC (baculoviral IAP repeat-containing protein 4). XIAP is an E3 ubiquitin ligase and acts as an endogenous inhibitor of cell death by suppressing caspases 3, 7, and 9 activities. The protein is also reported to play a role in the activation of the NF-kappa-B cell signaling pathway and the regulation of cyclins and cyclin-dependent kinase inhibitors (CDKIs). In addition to acting as an ubiquitin ligase XIAP has also been reported to have NEDD8 E3 ligase activity.XIAP has been identified as a potential tumor marker.
