| Description | Recognizes human Chymase. Crossreactivity: ~10% with MCPT1 and <1% with rhGranzyme-B, rhGranzyme-H, rmMCPT6 and rmMCPT7. Chymase (also mast cell protease I) is a secreted, 30kD glycoprotein member of the granzyme subfamily, peptidase S1 family of enzymes. It is secreted by mast cells and vascular smooth muscle cells, and converts angiotensin I into angiotensin II. This promotes fibroblast proliferation and secretion of ECM. Mature human chymase is 226aa in length. It contains one peptidase S1 domain (aa22-245). There is one potential alternate splice form. It shows a deletion of the 99 C-terminal amino acids (aa49-247). |
