| Description | Specificity: VAMP/Synaptobrevin (This antibody is specific for human Synaptobrevin 1 (aa 1-118) and Synaptobrevin 2 (aa 33-96). [also reacts with Pig]). Synaptobrevins are highly conserved small integral membrane proteins that are part of the vesicle-associated membrane protein (VAMP) family. They are present in abundance on synaptic vesicles and peptidergic secretory granules, as well as on secretory granules of endocrine cells. Synaptobrevins, along with syntaxins and SNAP25 are all proteins involved in the formation of SNARE complexes. These SNARE complexes play a major role in both the docking and fusion of synaptic vesicles with the presynaptic membrane. |
