Description | This ACOX2 antibody is generated from rabbits immunized with a KLH conjugated synthetic peptide between 1-30 amino acids from the N-terminal region of human ACOX2. The product of this gene belongs to the acyl-CoA oxidasefamily. It encodes the branched-chain acyl-CoA oxidase which isinvolved in the degradation of long branched fatty acids and bileacid intermediates in peroxisomes. Deficiency of this enzymeresults in the accumulation of branched fatty acids and bile acidintermediates, and may lead to Zellweger syndrome, severe mentalretardation, and death in children. |
