| Description | Specificity: Human CD58. CD58, also known as lymphocyte function-associated antigen-3 (LFA-3) is a 60-70 kDa type I transmembrane glycoprotein and a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily. It is widely expressed on most hematopoietic cells and on various non-hematopoietic cells, such as fibroblasts, endotheium and epithelial cells. CD58 is found on approximately 50% of peripheral blood T and B lymphocytes, and at high levels on monocytes. CD58 expression is particularly high on memory T cells and dendritic cells. In lymphoid tissues, CD58 is expressed on all dendritic cells and macrophages, and on germinal center B cells, medullary thymocytes and medullary thymic epithelium.
