Description | Specificity: Phospho-IRS-1 (Ser307) antibody detects endogenous levels of IRS-1 only when phosphorylated at Serine 307. Description: IRS-1 is an adaptor protein that is one of the major substrates of the insulin receptor kinase. Contains multiple tyrosine phosphorylation motifs that serve as docking sites for SH2-domain-containing proteins including phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase p85 subunit and GRB-2.Function: May mediate the control of various cellular processes by insulin. When phosphorylated by the insulin receptor binds specifically to various cellular proteins containing SH2 domains such as phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase p85 subunit or GRB2. Activates phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase when bound to the regulatory p85 subunit (By similar |
