Description | This CTSA antibody is generated from rabbits immunized with a KLH conjugated synthetic peptide between 18-45 amino acids from the N-terminal region of human CTSA. CTSA encodes a glycoprotein which associates withlysosomal enzymes beta-galactosidase and neuraminidase to form acomplex of high molecular weight multimers. The formation of thiscomplex provides a protective role for stability and activity.Deficiencies in this gene are linked to multiple forms ofgalactosialidosis. |
