| Description | Specificity: Human WNK1. BLAST analysis of the peptide immunogen showed no homology with other human proteins. WNK1, a WNK type protein kinase, contains a small N-terminal domain followed by a kinase domain and a long C-terminal tail. The protein is cytoplasmic and has been shown to regulate both the c-Jun N-terminal kinase pathway and the actin cytoskeleton in vitro. WNK1 has been identified as the gene mutant in pseudohypoaldosteronism type 2, also known as Gordon hyperkalemia-hypertension syndrome, which is a rare autosomal dominant form of volume-dependent, low-renin hypertension. |
