| Description | Rabbit anti RAF-1 (pSer259) antibody recognizes RAF-1, also known as RAF proto-oncogene serine/threonine-protein kinase and proto-oncogene c-RAF (cRaf), when phosphorylated at serine 259. RAF-1 is a serine/threonine protein kinase and a member of the RAF family. Upon activation by Ras, RAF-1 initiates the MAPK signaling cascade, playing a role in regulation of cell proliferation, differentiation, survival and apoptosis. RAF-1 is phosphorylated by AKT at serine 259. Phosphorylation of RAF-1 at serine 259 allows binding of 14-3-3 proteins, inhibiting the activity of RAF-1 (Kubicek et al. 2002). |
