| Description | Specificity: Anti-GFR-2 (IN) [Rabbit antibody to peptide corresponding to aa 377-391 of human GFRa-2. Recognizes human, mouse, and rat GFRa-2.]. This antibody recognizes human, mouse, and rat GFR alpha -2 (52 kD). Members of the glial cell line-derived neurotrophic factor (GDNF) family, including GDNF and neurturin (NTN), play key roles in the control of vertebrate neuronal survivial and differentiation. Physiological responses to NTN require the presence of a novel glycosylphosphatidylinositol linked protein, NTNR alpha , which is a cell surface receptor for NTN.
