| Description | Rabbit anti ErbB2 (pTyr1221/pTyr1222) antibody recognizes ErbB2, also known as receptor tyrosine-protein kinase erbB-2, proto-oncogene Neu, tyrosine kinase-type cell surface receptor HER2 or CD340, when phosphorylated at tyrosine 1221/tyrosine 1222. ErbB2 is a member of the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) family of receptor tyrosine kinases and plays a key role in cell proliferation and differentiation. ErbB2 heterodimerizes with other EGFR family members, however no specific ligand for ErbB2 has been identified (Yarden and Sliwkowski 2001). Overexpression of ErbB2 in breast cancer is associated with poor prognosis. ErbB2 is autophosphorylated at tyrosine 1221 and tyrosine 1222 (Ren et al. 2002). |
