| Description | Rabbit anti STAT6 antibody recognizes signal transducer and activator of transcription 6, also known as STAT6 or IL-4 STAT. STAT6 is a member of the STAT protein family, which plays an important role in cell growth, survival differentiation and transformation, transducing signals from cytokine receptors to the nucleus. STAT6 is tyrosine phosphorylated by members of the Janus kinase family (JAK1 and JAK3) in response to IL-4 and IL-13 stimulation. Phosphorylation results in STAT activation and the formation of STAT6 homo- and STAT6/STAT2 heterodimers. STAT dimers translocate from the cytoplasm to the nucleus where they act as transcription factors. STAT6 is critical for the expression of many IL-4 and IL-13 responsive genes, including class |
