| Description | This TGIF1 antibody is generated from rabbits immunized with a KLH conjugated synthetic peptide between 145-174 amino acids from the Central region of human TGIF1. The protein encoded by this gene is a member of thethree-amino acid loop extension (TALE) superclass of atypicalhomeodomains. TALE homeobox proteins are highly conservedtranscription regulators. This particular homeodomain binds to apreviously characterized retinoid X receptor responsive elementfrom the cellular retinol-binding protein II promoter. In additionto its role in inhibiting 9-cis-retinoic acid-dependent RXR alphatranscription activation of the retinoic acid responsive element,the protein is an active transcriptional co-repressor of SMAD2 |
