| Description | Rabbit anti HtrA2 antibody recognizes protein serine protease HtrA2, also known as OMI and PRSS25. HtrA2 is a member of the HtrA serine protease family (Gray et al. 2000) and was identified as a mammalian homologue of the Escherishia coli protein HtrA (Faccio et al. 2000). HtrA2 forms a homotrimer which is important for its function and serine protease activity (Li et al. 2002). HtrA2 is released from mitochondria and interacts with X chromosome-linked inhibitor of apoptosis (XIAP) (Suzuki et al. 2001). The XIAP binding through a reaper-like motif is required for induction of apoptosis (Martins et al. 2002). HtrA2 is upregulated in hepatocellular carcinoma (Wang et al. 2018) and has been associated with chemosentistivity in various cancers |
