| Description | This item detects estrogen-related receptor gamma (ERR gamma), a member of the nuclear hormone receptor superfamily. The fasting-induced coactivator protein PGC-1a has been shown to activate the ERR gamma, and together these proteins have a major role in the regulation of ERR alpha gene expression and energy homeostasis. . . ERR gamma and alpha are co-expressed in high energy demanding tissues such as skeletal muscle heart and kidney, and have been suggested to function in their differentiation. . . ERR gamma has also been shown to be over-expressed in breast tumours, and has been suggested to be a potential biomarker for favourable clinical course and hormonal sensitivity.
