| Description | Specificity: K2C6B antibody detects endogenous levels of total K2C6B. Function: Epidermis-specific type I keratin involved in wound healing. Involved in the activation of follicular keratinocytes after wounding, while it does not play a major role in keratinocyte proliferation or migration. Participates in the regulation of epithelial migration by inhibiting the activity of SRC during wound repair.Subunit Structure: Heterodimer of a type I and a type II keratin. KRT6 isomers associate with KRT16 and/or KRT17 (By similarity). Interacts with TCHP (PubMed:15731013).Similarity: Belongs to the intermediate filament family. |
