Background: RPS6KA1(Ribosomal Protein S6 Kinase, 90-KD, 1), also called RSK1, is an enzyme that in humans is encoded by the RPS6KA1 gene. The RSK(ribosomal S6 kinase) family comprises growth factor-regulated serine/threonine kinases, known also as p90(rsk). Homologs of RSK exist in several species.
