| Description | Recognizes human IRAK1/IRAK. IRAK1, an IRAK type protein kinase, is a signal transducer for the immune response Toll-like receptor and interleukin-1 (IL-1) receptor signaling cascades. IRAK1 is recruited to the IL-1 receptor, phosphorylated and progressively degraded in response to IL-1 induction. The protein also has the ability to autophosphorylate. IRAK1 is immediately downstream of the MyD88 adapter protein and immediately upstream of TRAF6. IRAK1 (-/-) mice have impaired responses to interleukin-18. At least two mRNA transcript variants have been identified - 2.0 and 3.6 kb. |
