| Description | Specificity: SirT1 (Ab-47) detects endogenous levels of total SirT1. This gene encodes a member of the sirtuin family ofproteins, homologs to the yeast Sir2 protein. Members of thesirtuin family are characterized by a sirtuin core domain andgrouped into four classes. The functions of human sirtuinshave not yet been determined; however, yeast sirtuinproteins are known to regulate epigenetic gene silencingand suppress recombination of rDNA. |
