Description | CD106 is a 110kDa single chain type I glycoprotein also known as vascular cell adhesion molecule-1 (VCAM-1) and INCAM-110. It is expressed at high levels on the surface of cytokine-stimulated endothelium and at minimal levels on unstimulated endothelium.VCAM-1 serves as a ligand for the leucocyte integrins alpha 4 beta (CD49d/CD29 complex).A function of CD106 is to provide a costimulation signal in T cell activation. Reactivity with other species not tested. |
