Description | Anti-KvBeta2 K+ channel Antibody was purified by Protein G chromatography. A BLAST analysis was used to suggest cross-reactivity with KvBeta2 K+ channel from Mouse, Human, Zebrafish, and rat based on 100% homology with the immunizing sequence. Cross-reactivity with KvBeta2 K+ channel from other sources has not been determined. Ion Channels research. Depolarization-activated potassium channels (Kv) play a major role in shaping the electrical signals in the nervous system. KvBeta2, otherwise known as potassium voltage gated channel, shaker-related subfamily beta member 2, is encoded by the KCNAB2 gene in humans. The KvBeta channels are also members of the aldo-keto reductase (AKR) subfamily. These proteins regulated inactivation and membrane localization of Kv1 and Kv4 channels. Specifically Kv2beta2 contributes to regulation of excitability in vivo, although not directly through either chaperone-like or typical AKR catalytic activity. |
Immunogen | KvBeta2 K+ channel Antibody was produced in mice by repeated immunizations raised against a fusion protein corresponding to the full length of rat Kvβ2. |
