| Description | Alanine Transaminase is an IgG fraction antibody purified from monospecific antiserum by a multi-step process which includes delipidation, salt fractionation and ion exchange chromatography followed by extensive dialysis against the buffer stated above. Assay by immunoelectrophoresis resulted in a single precipitin arc against anti-Biotin, anti-Sheep Serum as well as purified and partially purified Alanine Transaminase (ALT) [Pig Heart]. Cross reactivity against Alanine Transaminase (ALT) from other sources is unknown. Anti-Alanine Transaminase antibody is part of the class-I pyridoxal-phosphate-dependent aminotransferase family. It catalyzes the transfer of the alanine amino group, reversible transamination, to produce pyruvate and glutamate. Located in the cytoplasm, this antibody is a factor in cellular nitrogen metabolism and liver gluconeogenesis. Anti-Alanine Transaminase antibody is ideal for investigators interested in Metabolism, Signal Transduction, and Cancer research. |
