This protein dephosphorylates tyrosine residues in proteins. It plays a stimulatory role in activation of the Erk/MAP kinase pathway by receptor tyrosine kinase signaling. Mutations in this protein are a cause of Noonan syndrome as well as acute myeloid leukemia |
