Product Name | Fatty Acid Binding Protein (Muscle and Heart) (MH-FABP) (Western Blot Control) |
Description | Purity Single band on Western blot. Fatty acid binding protein is one of a group of low molecular weight proteins involved in the solubilization and transport of fatty acids. The release of cytoplasmic heart fatty acid-binding protein (H-FABP) into the plasma of cardiac patients is used as a marker of cardiac damage. In 18 out of 22 patients with established AMI the plasma FABP level was at or above the threshold level in blood samples taken within 3.5 hours after the first onset of symptoms of AMI, which compares very favourably with more established markers such as CK-MB. RANDOX recombinant FABP comprises a 133 amino acid fragment (1-133) corresponding to the mature FABP protein and is expressed in E. coli with an amino-terminal hexahistidine tag. This product is for research use only and is not intended for diagnostic or therapeutic use. |
