Product Name | Gamma Hydroxybutyrate CoA Transferase |
Description | Purity >95% by SDS-PAGE. Clostridium aminobutyricum ferments 4-aminobutyrate to acetate and butyrate. One of the enzymes which catalyses this inter conversion of the intermediates is Gamma Hydroxybutyrate CoA Transferase. The amino acid sequence of the enzyme shows close relationships to proteins from the genomes of Clostridium difficile and Porphyromonas ginivalis. Characterisation of this enzyme from Clostridium aminobutyricum has shown it to be largely membrane bound, stable in anaerobic conditions. RANDOX recombinant Gamma Hydroxybutyrate CoA Transferase comprises a 438 amino acid fragment (1-438) corresponding to the mature Gamma Hydroxybutyrate CoA Transferase protein and is expressed in E. coli with an amino terminal hexahistidine tag. This product is for research use only and is not intended for diagnostic or therapeutic use. |
